Jesus May Be Delayed, But He's Never Late

The laughter that once filled his home-
now silent.
Each breath-
thinner than a thread.
Each moment-
the last grain sliding through an hourglass.

Something in Jairus broke-
not into pieces, but open.

Into that opening,
God placed a name: Jesus.

Jairus, a synagogue official,
likely kept his distance from Jesus,
but now his twelve-year-old daughter
was fading-
like footprints on the shore.

Desperation pushed him toward the One
whose touch could reach
where time was running out.

Hope rose as Jesus walked beside him,
but the road was slow
and the crowd was thick.

Then came the interruption-
another desperate soul
reaching for Jesus.

Her healing was beautiful,
but it cost precious time.

While Jesus lingered, news arrived:
"Your daughter is dead."

Expectation collapsed-
but Jesus said,
"Do not fear; only believe."

He walked into the room death had claimed,
took the girl by the hand,
as gently as waking a child from sleep,
and her life returned.

You may not know this about Jesus:
He may delay,
but He's never late.

Where has time run out for you,
and where is Jesus inviting you
to trust His presence
more than the clock?

Jesus is not intimidated
by deadlines, decay, or despair.
He steps into rooms
hope left when death entered.

I want my expectation rooted
not in timing,
but in Him-
the One who carries life
into places I thought couldn't be saved.

Father, meet me where
my expectation has collapsed.
Step into the rooms
I thought were past saving,
and let the presence of Jesus
bring life where I see death.
Teach me to trust His timing,
His voice,
and His nearness.
