Jesus Invites the Rejected To Sit At His Table

Verse: "But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed." -Luke 14:13-14 Insight: Jesus doesn't just serve the least. He wants them seated beside Him. Not as a gesture of pity. But as a declaration of worth. He doesn't say, "Feed them outside." He says, "Invite them in." To the table. To the celebration. To the place where honor is shared. He touched the leper before healing him. He called the bleeding woman "Daughter." He crossed the lake for the man in the tombs. He dined with the ones we wouldn't invite. Yet, we fill our table with the familiar. We honor those who benefit us. We walk around the ones who unsettle us. The ones we've labeled as messy. The ones we've deemed unworthy. The ones broken beyond repair. Jesus wants us to know: When we make room for the least, We're making room for Him. When we honor the ones we've ignored, We honor the King. Reflection Question Who have I not invited-because they make me uncomfortable? Where is Jesus waiting for me to make room? Prayer Father, You don't ask me to try harder to care. You ask me to see Your Son in the people I've walked around. In the ones I would never invite. In the ones I fear would become a burden if I showed them kindness. Mold my heart to see Jesus where I've never looked for Him. Train my eyes to expect Him in the eyes I've avoided. Give me courage to make room at the table He's already set. I ask all of this in His name. Amen Amen.
