Yours Is the Kingdom

You may not know this about Jesus
but He spoke of the Kingdom of God
more than any other subject.
More than love.
More than faith.
More than heaven.
More than discipleship.

The Kingdom was His main theme.

And He taught two truths
hidden in the Gospels.

First —
the Kingdom is present.
It is within us.
It is among us.
Wherever Jesus reigns,
the Kingdom is here.
(Luke 17:21)

Next —
the Kingdom is future.
A literal Kingdom.
A visible Kingdom.
A Kingdom on this earth
under a literal King.
(Matt 25:31)

So the Kingdom is present
and the Kingdom is future.
But what is the Kingdom?
And how should knowing this affect us?

The Kingdom is the reign of God
wherever Jesus is present.

It is present now.
It will be visible later.
It is eternal always.

And how should knowing this affect us?

If the Kingdom is present,
we live under the King now.
His reign steadies our heart.
His authority becomes our peace.
(Matt 12:28)

If the Kingdom is within us,
we are never alone.
Never without help.
Never without strength.
Never without the King.
(Luke 17:21)

If the Kingdom is future,
hope rises in us.
The world will be restored.
Justice will be done.
Every wrong will be made right.
(Matt 25:31)

If the Kingdom is literal,
faith becomes solid.
Not symbolic.
Not pretend.
A real King is returning
to a real world.
(Acts 1:11)

If the Kingdom is eternal,
nothing done for the King
is ever wasted.
Not a prayer.
Not a sacrifice.
Not an act of obedience.
Not a moment of trust.
(Dan 7:14)

When we say,
“Yours is the Kingdom … forever,”
we are declaring the whole truth:

A present reign.
A future return.
A literal throne.
An eternal King.

So when we end our prayer with,
“Yours is the Kingdom … forever,”
we are not reciting a line.
We are confessing a reality.

A King who reigns now.
A King who lives within.
A King who is coming.
A King who will rule.
A King whose Kingdom
will never end.
