You Don't Know This About Jesus-The Most Important Question Jesus Asked

"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16)

Insight

Jesus didn't begin by questioning the crowd.
He spoke first to His disciples:
"Who do people say the Son of Man is?"

They answered with rumors,
titles,
guesses.

Then Jesus turned the question-
quietly,
directly:
"But who do you say I am?"

This is the most important question Jesus ever asked.
Not because He needed the answer-
but because we do.
It reveals how we see Him.

Peter said,
"You are the Christ,
the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16)

And Jesus didn't say, "Good job."
He said, "My Father showed you." (Matthew 16:17)

Jesus wasn't guessing.
He knew the Father was stirring something in Peter.
He asked-not to test,
but to draw it out.

That's the difference.
Not just information about Jesus-
but revelation from the Father.

You may not know this about Jesus:
He's inviting you to walk with Him
through the pages of the Gospels.
To know Him.
To follow Him.

Reflection Question

This question still comes-
quiet,
piercing,
relentless.
Not once.
Not long ago.
But now.
Again.
Today:
Who do you say I am?

What It Means to Me

This question isn't just for Peter.
It's for me.
Because when I see Jesus clearly,
something shifts.
My steps change.
My trust deepens.
My life begins to echo
the One I'm following with new eyes.

Prayer

Father, Your Son is asking me
the most important question:
"Who do you say I am?"

And I declare:

Jesus is the Christ,
the Son of God,
the Son of David,
the Only Begotten Son,
the Savior of the world.

He is Emmanuel,
the Word made flesh,
the Lamb of God,
the Lord of glory,
the risen Lord who reigns.

He is the Bread of Life,
the Light of the World,
the Good Shepherd,
the True Vine.

He is the Resurrection and the Life,
the Way, the Truth, and the Life,
the Author and Finisher of faith.

He is the Cornerstone,
the Image of the invisible God,
the Radiance of God's glory,
the Heir of all things.

He is the Lion of Judah,
the Root and Offspring of David,
the Bright Morning Star,
the Bridegroom.

He is the Holy One of God,
the Redeemer,
the Mediator,
the Head of the Church.

He is the Rock,
the High Priest,
the Advocate,
the Deliverer,
the Judge of the living and the dead.

He is the Prince of Peace,
the King of kings,
the Lord of lords,
the Amen,
the Lord our Righteousness.

He is the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End-
exalted above every name.
