The Father Spoke at the Transfiguration

High on a mountain,
Jesus stood with Peter, James, and John.
His face shone like the sun.
His clothes became dazzling white.

And then —
Moses and Elijah appeared,
speaking with Him
about His departure —
His exodus (Luke 9:31).

Peter, overwhelmed,
offered to build shelters.
But before he could finish,
a cloud enveloped them.
And from that cloud came a voice:

"This is My Son, whom I love;
with Him I am well pleased.
Listen to Him!"
(Matthew 17:5)

You may not know this about Jesus:
The Father didn't just affirm Him —
He commanded attention.

At the baptism,
the Father declared identity.
At the transfiguration,
He demanded obedience.
"Listen to Him."
Not just admire.
Not just follow.
Listen.

This moment came
just after Jesus began
speaking plainly
about His suffering and death.
The disciples didn't understand.
So the Father stepped in —
not to explain,
but to elevate the voice
they were struggling to hear.
