He Refused the Shortcut to Glory

And isn't that what we want, too?
A declaration without the process.
A ministry without obscurity.
The land of milk and honey
without the wilderness.
A God who shows up
on our timeline —
and proves Himself on cue.

But Jesus didn't leap.
Jesus stood
without needing
public approval.

Yet the issue runs deeper:
He refused
to let external validation
dictate internal obedience.

He didn't need the crowd's applause.
He didn't need the angels' catch.
He didn't need the Father
to perform on cue.

He simply stood —
because He already knew
who He was.
And He already knew
who the Father was.

And He trusted the Father's plan,
even when it led not up,
but down.

You may not know this about Jesus:
He refused the shortcut to glory.
He chose the descent —
the road paved
with rejection.
