Jesus Isn't Asking You to Move Faster. He's Asking You to Stay Longer.

"If you abide in me and my words
abide in you, ask whatever you
wish, and it will be done for you."
-John 15:7

Jesus doesn't measure speed.
He measures proximity.

He's not asking how fast you're growing.
He's asking how long you're staying.
In His presence.
In His words.
In the places where His voice
still echoes after yours runs out.

That verse isn't a metaphor.
It's a map.

To abide in Jesus is to let
His words live in you.
Not just pass through.
Not just inspire.
Live.

It means letting His words interrupt your reactions.
Shape your silence.
Stay with you when everything else shifts.

Abiding isn't flashy.
It's quiet.
It's staying when you feel nothing.
It's returning when you've wandered.
It's trusting that He's still speaking
even when you can't hear Him.
It's celebrating when you see Him in a fresh way.

You may not know this about Jesus:
He refused the shortcut to glory and walked the long road instead.

You don't need to move faster.
Just stay longer.

He'll be there at the finish line.
But He's also here-now.
In the Spirit.
On the road.
In the silence.
In His words.
