How to Receive Revelation from God

How to Receive Revelation from God
"I have called you friends, for I made known to you everything from My Father." (John 15:15) You may not know this about Jesus: He calls us friends because He reveals the Father to us. And He reveals the Father through His words. His words are the doorway into the Father's heart. But we were not always able to receive it. We were once blind. Blinded by the god of this world. Unable to see the glory of Christ. Unable to see the will of the Father. (2 Corinthians 4:4) Then God acted. The eyes of our heart have been enlightened. A work He has already done. A work that still stands. (Ephesians 1:18) Now we can see what Jesus reveals through His words. We see the power God displayed when He raised His Son from the dead. The will of the Father to raise Him, to glorify Him, to exalt Him. (Ephesians 1:19-20) And now we see what the Father willed for us. Raised with Christ. Made alive with Him. Hidden with Him. (Colossians 2:13; 3:1) This is the revelation Jesus gives His friends. The Father's will made known. The Father's purpose unveiled. The Father's heart opened through His words. This is how we receive revelation. The Father opens our eyes. The Son reveals the Father through His words. And we see what He has made known. Reflection Question Where do I need Jesus' words to reveal the Father to me again? What This Means to Me Revelation comes through His words. Given because Jesus calls me His friend. Given because the Father has opened my eyes to see His will in the risen Christ. Prayer Father, open my eyes wider still. Let the words of Jesus reveal Your heart to me. Let me walk as one who sees. In Jesus' name, Amen.
