What it Means to Glorify God

You may not know this about Jesus-
when He speaks of the Father being glorified,
He is not talking about applause,
admiration,
or religious achievement.

To glorify the Father means
to make His worth visible.
To reveal what is already true about Him.
To display His goodness
in a way others can see.

Most people hear the word "glory"
and think of something distant,
mystical,
or unreachable.
But Jesus brings it down
to something simple:
fruit.

Fruit is not what you achieve for God.
Fruit is what His life produces in you.
Fruit is the visible evidence
of an invisible union.

And when that fruit appears-
love that looks like His,
joy that survives the storm,
peace that holds in the dark-
the Father's worth
is made visible
through your life.

For example-
A stained glass window
in a dark room
holds its colors,
but no one sees them.
Then the sun rises.
Light pours through.
Suddenly the window glows.
The beauty that was hidden
is revealed.

The window didn't create the beauty.
The light revealed it.
That is what your life does
when you bear fruit.
You do not create God's beauty.
You reveal it.

Glorifying God is like
lifting a lantern in the night.
The light was always bright,
but now others can see by it.

Jesus says the Father is glorified
when you bear much fruit-
not because you are impressive,
but because the life of the Son
is unmistakably present in you.

"?and so prove to be My disciples."

He is not asking you
to prove yourself.
He is promising
to prove Himself
through you.

The command is ours-
remain.
The fruit is His-
much fruit.
And the glory
is the Father's-
always.
